New year, new post

I haven’t posted much in a long time, truth is it has been a shitty year for me and I am very glad it is gone. So here’s to a better one! I had to travel to Spain for family matters and it was a great opportunity to take some pictures! I find it hard to take pictures when at home and working so this was a good way to ease my way back into taking photos. I had with me the lovely RICOH GR camera which is A M A Z I N G for street snaps with an impressive result in colors.  I hope you enjoy 🙂 Somewhere above the Alps on the way to Barcelona: On the bus going from Barcelona to Zaragoza. I love front seats on buses, it looks like you are watching a cinema screen! Zaragoza was created by Augustus Caesar and originally called Caesaraugusta hence Zaragoza… I can’t help it, I find kitsch shop windows mesmerizing. I should get my ducks in a row (very bad pun. But intended.) THE most delicious tapas. Zaragoza has little to offer to a tourist but trust me there are some tapas bars that are worth it! “God…

Easter festivities!

This year’s Easter was extra fun! We had a lot of guests and a lot of cooking! The food was delicious and the wine even better…   Enjoy the photos: Discussions before dinner   The self-complacent teenager     Preparing the goat and Don Corleone is concentrating on its seasoning     and everybosy is taking photos of the spectacle!     The roasting of the goat has begun and everybody is having a beer     and a discussion whether A. is doing a good job or not…     Dessert was good!

A walk around the island!

It has been a long and hard week and this walk around the island was exactly what I needed on a beautiful windy yet partially sunny Sunday! Here are some of the photos I took today and some old ones in the end of the post:     THAT smile!   These two goats where locked up in an abandoned building.   We went for a superbly delicious lunch in Pandeli. I love all the shells stuck on the buoy, it looks like it was done on purpose…   ANd the mandatory visit of  the castle with its lovely view of Agia Marina and Alinda!   And an older photo I took in Athens of some out of focus lights. I call it ”where is you focus?”

Remnants of summer and automn!

I just emptied my phone from around 300 photos… Haven’t done that since August… So I decided to make a post with a selection of photos. Lilly sleeping and looking very comfortable in an uncomfortable position… A huuuuuggeee, fist sized, moth I spotted on the way to work on a hot August morning.   A last September swim in Pandeli. One of the things I miss about summer during the winter is not the weather (I hate summer weather) but rather being in the sea!   I designed this cake and the pastry cook realized it! One of the best meals I’ve had at the lovely Mylos restaurant!   When she is not wondering out in the ‘wilderness’ she is almost always sleeping…   And autumn arrived with some great storms… And yes autumn is my favorite time of the year! Perfect temperature and rain!!   And some great cloudy skies   In Athens for the Christmas holidays. It was really interesting how the city has changed in a matter of years!   CHOCOLATEEEE!!!   We tried molecular cocktails on my birthday.. I was not impressed, even though I absolutely loooovee cocktails   Aaaand back to the office….   I hope…

Belated summer and autumn post..

This summer has been the craziest and busiest one! Work has been exhausting but very satisfying! Summer was sweat and very hot! Met a lot of new and interesting people, saw old friends after a long long time, went to the beach a lot and drank A M A Z I N G cocktails (see photos below!).

Time slips away..

Yet another belated post.. Time slips away when you are busy. Many things have happened in past few months. New house and new ventures have kept me busy. These are a few photos I have gathered from these last months 🙂 A visit to the Castle on a sunny spring day   We found pretty flowers   and we played with the wind   Leros mills   The cat found her place on the fridge   My plant had amazing flowers!!   A day at the beach! First time in years I went really early in the morning at the beach. It was very beautiful and very private! I see this bougainvillea every morning on my way to work! Waiting for clients… They were late and I got bored! Again on my way to work spotted this beautiful flowers. I think the plant is called osier…   At the construction site it is full of butterflies. I think they seek the coolnes of the water used…

I have been playing around with photoshop.

So, this week I spent a little too much time in photoshop (considering I had a crazy amount of work to do..) As you can see I discovered ‘actions’ in photoshop and I went CRAZYYY… I even remade old photos. Photos that weren’t nice at all, suddenly became interesting Out of focus images and bad quality ones Cute ones and some even cuter… I have forgoten the time she was so small… I even tried to make romantic ones and borring ones were spiced up! Cuteness never stops…

Sunday blogging and relaxing

I always wait for Sunday with such enthusiasm. It’s the only day of the week I do not work… And I always have grant plans, which I almost NEVER manage to fulfil.. Today I managed to do most of the things I had planed and the evening is still young.

The fact that it has been raining almost all day helped a lot.

Another thing that helped a lot was borrowing/confiscating my boyfriend’s iphone…

I relaxed, I sal loved ones and met new people.     Extravaganza desert   A lot of photos were taken that night   and gifts were exchanged   children ate way too much sugar   and startred making faces   and then ofcourse there is the sugar come-down..   love was all around (cheesy I know…)   All in all it was a great night!

Early holidays

We went to Rhodes for a five day trip after almost 4 years without any holidays. It was very strange. Rhodes is a very beautiful island with unique sceneries, but the places we visited and stayed were quite horrible. They have turned this amazing island into a fast-food holiday place… Food everywhere was horrible, service even worst and everything seemed like a big mall. Folklore shops, super kitsch      restaurants and bars. In the city of Rhodes, the oldest medieval town still inhabited, everything was like a theme park for tourists. Nothing reminded me that I was on a Greek island… This has never happened to me before on any of my trips to Greek islands. So here are the few digital pictures I took.. Analogues to follow in a couple of weeks.. (Have to find the time to send them for developing and then scanning… I’m tired only by the thought of it 😉 )   fortunately we had the car cause there were 2 hour distances… Bloody sunset (no manipulation whatsoever of this picture) Lindos A 16nth century house now operating as a cafe Delicious mint flavour ice cream!!! He wouldn’t stop talking about how many people have taken his photo and all…
